Wig From My First About With Ovarian Cancer

First, acknowledge you all so much for your comments. I fairly read all of them and love earshot your thoughts and sentiments. And who doesn't love consecrations/arguments of reassurance? ;)

Now comes the "fun" part: Observing for a wig. I had gave the wig from my first bout with ovarian cancer, obviously never thinking that the cancer would return and hoping another patient could use it during their fight.

I took out the list of New York City wig shops that the nurse had given me and started calling from top to lowest. Some of them had gone out of commercial or were wrong numbers. Some of them required an appointment, but were booked full for a week. And one wig shop charged a fee for every 20 minutes you were there for a consultation.

I Googled that last one, disgusted but curious about the patients' reviews. Sure enough, it was patient after patient complaining about how this particular wig company was taking advantage of people undergoing chemotherapy. One patient said she spent over $150 on a consultation because she wanted to look at another wig store to compare prices.

Most persons don't know the cost of a human-hair wig. I never did. I think most folks would be surprized to find out that most cost anywhere from $1,200 to $3,000, depending on length and origin of the hair. If you want it custom or altered in some way, the price can go up to $5,000!

I got my original wig six years ago from a Hasidic Jewish salon for $1,500. Hasidic Jewish salons are great places to go get wigs, as women in that religion wear wigs once they get married. So, needless to say, they have a ton of experience, along with an amazing selection of wigs.

After getting frustrated with the list of New York City wig shops from the hospital, I went to the place I always go if I'm looking for answers – social networks, baby! I Tweeted and Facebooked asking if anyone knew of a great wig shop in New York. Patients, if you are having trouble with this or have general questions, I would 100 percent suggest putting your question out there on your social networks, as you are bound to receive some sort of answer or guidance.

From my Facebook post and Tweets, I compiled a list of suggestions. I found out that the American Cancer Society, Cancer Care and the Y-ME Organization all give patients free wigs. I also got the names of three local wig shops that sell human-hair wigs.

Lace Wigs for African American Women

Nowadays, wigs have turn out to be a general word in the whole world, especially for African American females. They are born with natural hair very special due to genetic heritage and can hardly own a long and fluttering hair. The love of attractiveness is an essential part of all well human environment, and African females are no exclusion.
It is quite common for an African lady to possess numerous wigs. To recover beauty and to rebuild confidence. They would even spend one third or even half of their salary for wigs. Wigs are both life necessities and luxuries for them. On average, middle income African black women will put 6 to 7 different styles of wigs in their closets. Therefore, it creates a huge demand on hair products. As the origin of hair products, wigs companies in China begin to grow up like mushroom after rain. Every year, millions of lace wigs are exported to America and Africa to meet the urgent demand of African American women.

1. Lace front wigs

Lace front wigs are careful the most chic wigs among African American women for some reasons. One is they are relatively cheaper than full lace wigs since apart from the lace part, the rest is wafted back which is machine made, thus time saving and energy saving.
Another reason is that it can be convenient when applying to your head. Let’s take a look at the construction of the lace front Cap construction: Lace front construction with wafted back.
With this lace front cap construction, it would create the illusion of a natural-looking front hairline for you. Each hair on the lace is individually hand-tied to a section of sheer lace. Lace front wigs allow you to style your hair away from your face and most of them are ready-to-wear and temple-to-temple. Made of delicate material, they should be handled with care.

2. Full lace wigs Vs. Glueless full lace wigs

Similarity: The two kinds of wigs include lace all around the perimeter and are available for you to wear your hair in up dos or high ponytails. Wigs all have a natural hairline around the perimeter when wearing.

Difference: Since there were no combs or clips and no straps inside Full lace wigs, you have to apply the wigs with either glue or other adhesives. These are appropriate for women without hair or with scarce hair. While glueless full lace wigs have adjustable straps on the back and combs on the side and the front to secure the wig from sliding or rolling back, you can adjust the cap to suit your head size for a better fit.

Nape lifting? How to achieve a Long Lasting Bond at the Nape.

Attaching the nape of a lace forward-facing wig can be challenge for even the most knowledgeable lace expert. To begin, you can't see what you're doing, and many women have a lot of hair on our necks which delays with the glue bond. This can quickly lead to prevention as the adhesive either will not twig at all, or when it does it will not stay fused for any distance of period.

Many women often wonder what it is that they are doing wrong that makes them unable to get the nape bond right. In my experience, I've found that there are usually pretty simple reasons why someone might not be have to maintain a successful hold at the nape, and with a few adjustments, every woman can have a flawless nape application. If you are having problems with your nape hold, read the following guide carefully and consider what changes you can make to you application routine to get better results.

Wig Size
One of the greatest significant stages to getting a decent nape request begins before you even receive your unit. It starts at the point when you take your measurements and order your unit. I have found that one of the biggest saboteur of lace wig applications is trying to apply a too small unit.

When to come to securing the nape, the "front to nape" measurement is by far the most important. The front to nape is the measurement that begins at the forehead and ends at the nape of the neck. If this measurement is too short, you simply will not be able to pull your unit far enough down in the back to glue it properly. When measuring your head, if you are unsure about any of the measurements it is better to err on the side of caution and order a unit slightly too big than too small. You can always trim a too large unit, but if your unit is too small, you won't have many options.

Positioning
Another important element of achieving a lasting nape bond is the placement of your wig. The nape of a lace front wig should be bonded in the "bend" of your neck, not below. To locate this area, hold your head all the back and look up at ceiling. Feel the crease that forms at your nape? The bottom of your unit should be applied just above this crease. It really doesn't matter what adhesive you use, if your unit is bonded below the nape, or the bend in the neck, it will not hold. The adhesive will release from the natural bending and pivoting of your neck.

Too Much Nape Hair
Ok, so now that you've situated the area where you should be insertion your unit, you have to consider whether or not you have too much nape hair to get a decent hold.
One thing is clear, and that is that lace wigs do not bond well to hair. Many women shave the additional hair below the crease in order to achieve a better bond. Now, I must clarify this point. This does not mean that you should shave the back of your head. I am not suggesting that you shave anything above the bend in your neck. As a matter of fact, all of your hair should be braided up and growing while you are wearing lace wigs.

Whether you decide to shave or not, keep in mind that in order to have a truly flawless nape application, this may be a necessary step for women with a lot of hair at the nape.

As another, if you don't want to shave your nape, then you may to try parting your hair just above the crease and putting the adhesive in the part. Tape does not stick very well to hair at all, so if you try this method you will need to use a liquid adhesive in the part.

Handle With Care
Once you do get your nape applied securely, it is important to handle your unit gently. Do not pull at the back of the lace front wig when styling your hair in a ponytail, or updo. Remember the hair is just glued, or taped down - it isn't nailed down. The less stress that you place on your adhesive, the longer your bond will last.

Patience
The simplest element, but a very significant factor nonetheless.
Hang in there, Ladies! You are all capable of achieving a perfect nape application. It just takes a little practice.

Ok, so that's it for today!
